Albion First Baptist Church Scholarship

First Baptist Church of Albion will award one $250.00 scholarship to a member of our church who is a high school senior wishing to attend an institute of higher learning. The money must be used for tuition/books for a given school year.

Specifics
Goal: Annual award of one $250.00 scholarship.
Criteria: Applications will be distributed each spring by the ECHS Guidance Department and may be picked up at the First Baptist Church of Albion. Two letters of recommendation (one from a High School teacher and one from a person in the community) and a high school transcript will be required. In addition to this, the applicant will be required to submit a personal data sheet and an essay (1-3 paragraphs)describing what God and the church have done for you.
Qualifications: Applicants must be high school seniors and have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and who plan to pursue a 1 year or 15 month certificate, or a 2 or 4 years degree. Characteristics, which will be considered, are good moral character, a good reputation, financial need, and community involvement.
Selection Committee: Scholarship Committee of the First Baptist Church of Albion.
Announcement: The award will be completed when full time enrollment (12 semester hours or the equivalent) is formally verified the following summer or fall after high school graduation. The check will be made payable to the recipient and the institution.

Forest Jostes Memorial Scholarship

First Baptist Church of Albion will award the Forest Jostes Memorial Scholarship of $500.00 to anyone wishing to attend an institute of higher learning. The money must be used for tuition/books for a given school year.

Goal: Annual award of one $500.00 scholarship.
Criteria: Applications will be available at local High Schools, Jr. Colleges and may be picked up at the First Baptist Church of Albion. A high school transcript will be required. In addition to this, the applicant will be required to submit a personal data sheet and brief essay.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and plan to pursue a 1 year or 15 month certificate, or a 2 or 4 years degree. Characteristics, which will be considered, are good moral character, a good reputation, financial need, community involvement, and commitment to God and Country.
Selection Committee: Scholarship Committee of the First Baptist Church of Albion with representation of Forest Jostes’ family.
Announcement: The award will be completed when full time enrollment (12 semester hours or the equivalent) is formally verified. The check will be made payable to the recipient and the institutions and sent to the institution.
