Youth Ministry Report for February 10, 2010 Business Meeting

13 youth attended a youth rally at Little Prairie on January 31st. Had a great time eating pizza playing games and heard a message about hero’s from the story of David and Goliath.

25 attended the youth super bowl party on February 7th. They consumed a 9 foot long sub, 5 pizzas and lots of desserts, chips and drinks. Generous financial gifts were given to cover the cost.

Information has been received about the World Changers project in Springfield. There will be an information meeting on Sunday February 21st after the morning worship for parents and youth who are attending.

We will have a fundraiser for World changers on Saturday February 27th. Chowder and possibly another soup will be served by the bowl or bulk. An ingredients list will be posted soon for donations.

Most of the logs have been taken for the Blaze donations. Eric Trout (A youth pastor from Robinson) will be the speaker and hopefully the youth praise band that is being organized for the Ken Freeman youth Sunday will be leading worship at the blaze.

The Sunday School and midweek studies are on the subject of Worship this month. John and Lori are doing a great job of leading these studies.

Youth Grow night is Thursday February 11th.

Youth Ministry Report For January 13, 2010 Business Meeting

New Years Eve fellowship and Lock-in
26 youth and adults enjoyed the New Years Eve fellowship 14 youth stayed for the all-night Lock-in. Everyone had a really good time playing games and hanging out with friends.

Super Bowl Sunday
On February 7th from 5pm – 9pm we will have the game on the big screen in the youth room with food and other games as well. Half-time devotion and gospel presentation.

World Changers
5 youth and 2 adults plan to join a World Changers ministry team on June 21-26 in Springfield.

The Blaze
Good Friday April 2nd will be THE BLAZE youth outreach.

Church Camp
We will begin promoting church camp in March.

Known Study
The Sunday school and Wednesday Night live study is about True Peace this month.

Fund Raisers
On Saturday February 27th we will be cooking chowder.
We need about $2,500 dollars for world changers, to send our kids to church camp, and the blaze.

Youth Ministry Report for October 14, 2009 Business Meeting

Canoe Trip:
4 adults and 24 youth made the trip to Akers Ferry in Missouri on September 26th for a canoe trip on the current river. Everything went very well and all had a great time.

Sunday evening youth:
We are continuing to study Young heroes in the bible. This past month we studied Jeremiah who served God even when it was difficult to do so. And Mary the mother of Jesus who simply trusted God when she obediently follows his will for her life. Group times have been well attended.

Wednesday Night Live:
We are emphasizing the truths the youth are studying during Sunday School from the Known study. Last month the title for the unit was Do you know this Man. A look at who Jesus is. This month the unit title is More than a Feeling a study about true Joy.

Trick or Eat:
We are preparing for trick or eat on October 31st from 5:30 – 8pm during trick or treat hours. Help is needed from adults to drive vehicles and chaperone a group of youth. Help organize the hayride and tend the fire. We will have a bon-fire and hay ride afterwards for those who help with the food pick-up.

World Changers:
Jerry day executive director of IBSA missions will be here on Sunday November 1st to share during the morning worship and to spend some time with 6th grade thru college age youth and their parents to explain what World Changers is and what opportunities are available to us. We would like to send our youth on Mission with World Changers next summer. A lunch will be served for the youth and their parents following the morning worship. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve the lunch. Preferably those who are not parents of the youth.

Youth Ministry Report for September 9, 2009 Business Meeting

Wednesday Night Live is rolling again with 10 students in average attendance

We have started a new study through the Jr. High & High school Sunday school classes and Wednesday night live called Known this is a 6 year study plan to help students know Christ and to make him known to others.

Sunday night youth meetings are focusing on Young Heroes from the bible so far we have looked at David and Samuel. The 4th Sunday of each month will be a fun night including games snacks and group challenges.

I will be gone September 14th -16th to Nashville for a Lifeway student ministers conference. Thanks to the church for allowing me to attend this conference and for the support. I believe this will improve my abiblity to lead the ministry and benefit the whole ministry.

I have been talking to a World Changers ministry leader about coming to speak to the church about this ministry. We are considering November 1st.

In the month of March the youth did 6 ministry projects for the senior adults in our church and served 20 at the senior adult appreciation meal.

4 youth, Bill Kinsey and Joe Wildt attended the Youth revival services @ Fairfield.

All the students involved worked hard and did a wonderful job with Dinner theater.

I shared my testimony and attended 3 nights of revival @ Little Prairie Church. 12 youth from our church attended one night. 1 Attended all 3 nights with me.

We are preparing for the Blaze

May 1st and 2nd will be a trip to the creation museum.

High school mission trip to Pellston Michigan will be June 20 -26.

The last Wednesday Night Live will be May 20th.

Youth Report March, 2009

Chowder and pie fundraiser went very well over $500 was raised to go towards the blaze and mission trip

We are planning a mission trip to Pellston Michigan this June 20th-26th to assist in a V.B.S. and other projects with our high school students.

We are having a mission day to bless the senior adults in the church by doing projects at their homes and serving a meal on Saturday the 14th.

March 20 and 21 we will be going to Fairfield to attend the youth revival meetings.

A planning meeting for the youth ministry is scheduled for Sunday the 15th.

Preparation for the blaze is being made. This years Speaker is Steve Griswold and the worship band is Downpour.

A weekend retreat will be discussed for the month of May.

Youth Report
January 2009

On December 29 & 30 16 youth and 5 chaperones attended Youth Encounter @ Springfield. We experienced a lot of entertainment from illusions to sword swallowing. Most importantly we participated in worship with music and messages. We were challenged to Love God and Hate sin. The trip went very well and we praise God for the safety he provided us as well as the means to go on the trip.

The Youth GROW team is forming and is very encouraging with 8 youth attending the Thursday training. Led by Pastor Kirk. They learned ways to share their faith and properly make a visit, and write a letter. We are looking forward to getting started on the last Thursday of this month then our first night the 2nd Thursday in February.

Upcoming opportunities include a trip to Evansville on the 25th to go ice skating, the super bowl fellowship on the 1st of February, a possible associational ski trip to Paoli peaks later in February also a Game night and possibly a Lock-in on February 20th.

Future plans include The Blaze on Good Friday, a trip to the Creation Museum in Ohio Sometime in March, a mission trip this summer and a spring retreat.

Youth Ministry Report
December 10, 2008

Five youth and one adult attended the association bowling on Sunday the 7th.

A lot of youth turned out for the caroling Sunday night.

15 are signed-up for youth encounter so far 9 boys and 6 girls. Also 3 male chaperones.

The Spaghetti dinner and dessert auction is this Sunday after worship.
Thanks to everyone who have donated items for the meal and auction!
We still need more home-made desserts!

Wednesday Night Live has only met twice since the last business meeting and one Sunday night youth group. We will get back to business after the Holidays.

Job well done by the Youth and children’s choir Sunday.

There is a college retreat planned in January by the association if you know of any college age people tell them about it.

The First Baptist Church Youth Group collected canned goods and non-perishable food items within the city limits of Albion on Halloween, Oct. 31st between 5:00-8:00 p.m. All the items of food collected were given to the Hope center for distribution to those in need. Thank you for helping us to help others.

Associational Youth Fall Fellowship
The youth had a weenie roast and fellowship, Saturday, October 18 at the Samaria Baptist Church beginning at 6:00 p.m. The youth brought a medium sized pumpkin. Boys brought a 2-liter of soda and girls brought chips, adults provided desserts and a sharp carving knife. Marshmallows were also provided. A good time was enjoyed by all who attended
