I can hardly believe that it has been twenty years that we made the move to Albion. Jordan was 4, Kristen 2 and Luke had just been born couple of months before we moved here. Then came Danyel and Micah. A lot of things have changed in our lives. We have a daughter who is married, three kids through college and only two kids still living at home. Lesia has finished her education. We built a house and thankfully we own more of it than the bank! The church has changed a lot too. We’ve modernized a lot of things like computer projections; we are working on getting the praise band off the ground, enlarged the parking lot and made a lot of other improvements. We have seen a lot of new families come and a few move away. I am thankful for all the changes.

But I am thankful too for many of the things that have not changed. The kids still have all their grandparents in pretty good health. We moved into our own house but our family is still the same group of people, even if we are a little older. I’m thankful for the new faces at church, but also really appreciate many families who are committed to serving God at the church today as when we first arrived. I’m still thankful that Albion is still a great place to raise a family.

I won’t compare myself to the apostle Paul except that I can identify with his feelings of one of his churches. He said, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” (Php 1:3-5) Thanks for sharing some memories and thanks for letting me be your pastor.
